Invisalign Treatment

Helix Dental is proud to provide high-quality Invisalign Gold Coast locals can trust. If you’ve been thinking about straightening your teeth and achieving your most confident smile, this dental treatment can be an incredibly effective option.

What is Invisalign treatment and how does it work?

Invisalign is a type of virtually invisible orthodontic treatment that straightens your teeth without the use of traditional braces.

It uses a series of clear plastic aligners to gently move your teeth into their new, most ideal position. Each set is worn for 1–2 weeks for 20–22 hours per day before you move on to the next set.

The aligners are only removed when eating and drinking fluids other than water, and when brushing and flossing your teeth.

Invisalign Process

When beginning your Invisalign journey with our Mermaid Waters dentists, our seamless process is designed to have minimal disruption on your routine so you can live the life you love!

Appointment 1: Initial Consultation

  • Here, we’ll get to know each other and find out how we can achieve your dream smile. Your Invisalign provider will take a close look at your teeth and discuss your specific goals and expectations.
  • We’ll take digital impressions using our iTero scanner, which will show you a 3D visualisation of your smile after treatment, and we can answer any questions you may have.
  • Your digital scan is then sent away for final planning, where we plan and move your teeth on 3D digital software. This plan is then used to fabricate your custom-made aligners, which will be shipped to the practice, ready for you to begin your journey.

Appointment 2: Treatment Begins

  • You’ll return in a couple of weeks to have your Invisalign fitted, and we will go through how to use your aligners and maintain them.
  • We can then set up virtual monitoring software on your phone (either Invisalign Virtual Care or Dental Monitoring) that will allow us to track the progress of your Invisalign journey without you needing to come in for frequent appointments. This revolutionary new software has made it possible for patients with busy lives and those who live far away to undergo Invisalign treatment with significantly fewer appointments and significantly improved outcomes!

Review Appointments:

Don’t live locally? No worries! We have many patients who live interstate. In most cases, we will only need to review your treatment in the practice approximately every 3–4 months, thanks to our virtual monitoring software allowing us to track your progress remotely. Please note that some patients may need more frequent reviews. Find out if you’re suitable by getting in touch with our team.

Benefits of Invisalign

The advantages of Invisalign are many, which is why it’s such a popular dental treatment.

The pros of Invisalign include that it is:

Invisalign Treatment

Discreet

As the aligners are made from thin, clear plastic, they’re barely noticeable as you talk, smile, and laugh during everyday life.

dental equipment

Removable

It’s super easy to take out your aligners to eat and drink or for a quick photo, so you can tackle special events with confidence.

molar teeth

Comfortable

Tooth movement with Invisalign is gradual and gentle, and irritation to the gums and mouth is minimal, making it a comfortable process.

brushing teeth

Easy to maintain

Cleaning your aligners is a quick process, and you can brush and floss as usual, so you can effortlessly keep your oral hygiene in check.

General Dental

Simultaneous teeth whitening

With the ability to whiten your teeth throughout the process, your teeth are getting both straighter and whiter during your Invisalign journey.

Invisalign FAQs

Invisalign is suitable for a range of dental concerns, including:

  • Overbite
  • Underbite
  • Crossbite
  • Gaps between teeth
  • Open bite
  • Crowded teeth

Your personal suitability for treatment will depend on the complexity of your case, which can be determined by our talented team during a free Invisalign consultation. Here, we’ll get a closer look at your smile and take a 3D scan for a complete picture of your teeth to decide on the best course of action for your goals, budget, and oral health.

In terms of Gold Coast Invisalign costs and the general price in Australia, you can expect to pay between $5,000 to $7,500 approximately.

The exact cost of Invisalign treatment will depend on the complexity of your case and, therefore, how long it will take.

Your dentist will be able to give you an accurate quote after your initial free consultation and scan, which you can book online.

Helix Dental is excited to offer several convenient payment plans, including National Dental Plan by humm and Afterpay to make achieving your dream smile a reality, enhancing accessibility to the treatments you need. With monthly repayments, easy setup, and no credit checks, it’s never been easier to create confidence in your smile, without having to wait.

As each person’s smile is completely unique, once again, this will differ between patients depending on how much tooth movement is required to achieve the final result. This can take as little as 4 months or up to 18 months for more complex cases.

When it comes to Invisalign vs braces, there are several differences between them:

  • Appearance: For those who want a more subtle option to straighten their teeth, Invisalign is almost invisible in comparison to the metal wires of traditional braces.
  • Oral hygiene: Brushing and flossing your teeth with Invisalign is much easier as the aligners can be removed, whereas the metal wires and brackets of braces are harder to clean and can often get food stuck between them.
  • Comfort: Traditional braces can be quite uncomfortable for some, with the metal causing irritation to the mouth and gums. In contrast, the flexible Invisalign aligners make them a comfortable choice for all-day wear.

Keep in mind that there are circumstances where traditional braces may be a more suitable option for you — we’ll be able to determine this during your initial consultation. However, it is quite rare that a case cannot be successfully treated with Invisalign.
