Porcelain Veneers Process
Appointment 1: Consultation

To see if veneers are the best option for you, we’d love to get to know you and your teeth during your free initial consultation. Here, we’ll ask you what your dream smile looks like and what your concerns are, and we’ll take a closer look at your teeth to make sure this cosmetic dental treatment is suitable for you.

We’ll take advantage of 3D smile design technology to create your new smile using digital scans and photos. This digital design is then 3D printed and used as a guide or “blueprint” for your new smile. From this digital smile design, we’ll do a ‘trial smile’ where you can try in some temporary teeth to see what they could look like. This also gives us another opportunity to make changes to the shapes and length so that you can be 100% certain of the result you're hoping to achieve with your new veneers.

Once you’re ready to start the journey to your brand new smile, the process for finalising your custom porcelain veneers will take place over two appointments.
Appointment 2: Prep

During this visit, we’ll prepare the teeth to make enough room for your veneers to be placed by lightly polishing the front surface. Using the digital planning in the previous steps, we can minimise the amount of tooth structure that needs to be polished and therefore be highly conservative. The amount of tooth structure removed is often as minimal as half a millimetre or less (or the rough thickness of a fingernail), and in some certain cases, there is even the possibility of doing no preparation at all.

Then, we’ll take moulds and digital dental impressions of the prepared teeth and then send them to our premium dental lab, where your new bespoke ceramic veneers are hand layered by our incredible ceramist and technicians.

We then discuss and finalise the perfect shade for your new veneers based on what you want your final result to look like, whether you’d prefer natural and subtle or white and bright.

Finally, we’ll place your temporary veneers, which will be worn while your final set is being handmade in the dental lab. This will let you take them for a test run so you can get used to the shape of your new smile day-to-day.
Appointment 3: Final Fit

This is the exciting part! In your last appointment, we’ll remove the temporary veneers and carefully bond your final set onto your teeth using an extremely durable and safe adhesive. We’ll make sure they fit perfectly and check your bite to make sure you’re completely comfortable.

Veneers should be taken care of just like your real teeth in order to ensure they last as long as possible.
With proper maintenance and oral hygiene, porcelain veneers can last from 10–15 years.
To increase the longevity of your porcelain veneers, you’ll simply need to brush and floss daily and visit your dentist for your regular check-up and cleans.
While veneers are incredibly durable, they can still chip or break if put under pressure, so we’d recommend not chewing hard things such as ice and carrots or other objects like fingernails.
